Massimo Piraccini Treatment designs and manufactures chemical treatments in Italy for marble, granite, natural stone, cotto, cement and ceramics: protective sealers, anti-etch treatments, colour enhancers, cleaners, stain removers and maintenance kits. For more than fifty years we have worked alongside stonemasons, slab producers, installers, contractors and retailers, in Italy and abroad, with a single goal: to keep natural surfaces beautiful and long-lasting.
Our story
1982 Pioneers in stone
In the early 1980s the industry paid little attention to surface protection: the chemical companies of the time mainly produced waxes. We had understood that stone needed to be protected. In 1982, at the Genoa trade fair, and the following year in Carrara, we were the only exhibitors presenting waterproofing treatments for marble.
Since then we have also been pioneers in the way we present our products: tiles and marble slabs treated on one half only filled our stands at industry trade fairs. While others sold on paper, we showed results, quite literally getting our hands dirty to prove how effective our treatments are. Today this approach is common at every trade fair; what still sets us apart is quality and innovation.
Solutions born from the needs of the job site
Professionals' questions have always guided our research. Requests to remove stains led to our line of stain removers; when slab producers began selling pre-treated materials, we developed in-line treatments and the corresponding adaptations for processing machinery. A long-standing collaboration with an industrial chemistry expert allowed us to build a range that still forms the foundation of our research today.
The 1990s Sustainability and after-sales support
We anticipated the demand for solvent-free products with a dedicated line, at a time when the market considered only solvent-based products to be effective.
In those same years we introduced our treatment, cleaning and restoration kits: small bottles and all the accessories needed to let end customers take care of their own surfaces. We were the first to patent them, and what was then an innovative approach is now well established. Their strength lies in giving the customers of stonemasons and slab producers the best after-sales service, with the assurance that their surfaces will continue to be cared for over time. Today there are dozens of versions, including ones customised with the client's own brand.
2014 Real-world innovation
In recent years we have invested in technologies that are new to the industry, such as photocatalytic and bacteriostatic protective treatments. In 2014, at Marmomac, we presented the first anti-etch line for marble, inviting visitors to test it for themselves with lemons at our stand. Today the line comprises 12 products and enables marble to resist everyday acids just like synthetic surfaces, making it a star once again in kitchens, bathrooms and public venues.
